History of Barra de Navidad

On the early morning of November 21, 1564 armed with five ships and 500 soldiers, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and his sail-captain Andres de Urdaneta and Juan de Salcedo explorer Mexican Born grand son of Legazpi sailed from the port of Barra de Navidad, New Spain in what is now Jalisco State, Mexico to the Philippines and thus began the saga of a deep relationship to this day between the Malay and Aztecs brothers.

On November 21, 2019 the organizers FPACC, PCCI and Mexican Authorities joins this anniversary to honor the gallant Galleon Trade Tradition where the intrepid and brave mix crews of Filipinos and Mexicans navigated the seas for more than 250 years.
